Bling me up real nice!

by Teresa 12. June 2011 12:30

A trip to the Swarovski trip in Dubai Mall resulted in a mini shopping spree.

Since Hermès orange is my favourite shade-du-jour, I fell in love with the encrusted rubber bracelet. The lime coloured ball on a string is a nice compliment colour so they both got to come home with me.

And this is what my wrists look like nowadays. I like!

More Bambah

by Teresa 23. March 2011 18:59

More images from the Denim on Denim event at Dubai's coolest vintage store - Bambah Boutique.

I went with Lisa - my partner in party!

and met Hommam who was sweet enough to approach me and tell me he was a Candy&Cookie fan. Check out Hommam's blog - F for Fashion11 here!

Homemade cookies baked by the boutique owner. Doesn't get much cuter than that!

The oh-so-pretty Simone from Virgin Radio was there.

And I tried on a stunning vintage dress that I cannot stop thinking of. Should I?

Poca & Poca

by Teresa 19. January 2011 18:40

Have you heard of a Dubai based clothing brand named Poca & Poca? Well, now you have. POCA & POCA is a young brand that emerged from Poland by Karolina Gniewek - the founder and the designer of the brand.

I am utterly in love with the simplicity of the designs. The campaign is also beyond amazing  - very sultry and elegant.

Yours Truly with the stunning Karolina and her handsome brother whom you might recognize from the campaign pictures.

Princesse TamTam

by Teresa 1. January 2011 11:10

Ever heard of the French lingerie brand Princesse TamTam?

Their underwear is available at Galleries Lafayette and that's where myself  together with a selected amount of Dubai fashionistas had a closer view at their latest collection.

The name Princesse TamTam is paying hommage to a film released in 1935, starring Josephine Baker. How cute is that?

The lingerie is very feminine, intricate in details with a cheeky twist and I fell in love in this lacy, very delicate and kinda holiday-esque set with golden thread finish. Pretty, oh so pretty...

Hellwafashion
was there! Dubai's hardest working fashionista. We looked at pretty lacies and gossiped about Dubai's blogger scene.

A goodie bag with lingerie shaped cookies and a lingerie bag.

And the lacy wonderpiece tagged along with me home as well.

C by Clarissa

by Teresa 20. October 2010 16:51

Local talent alert!

Check out C by Clarissa - new fashion label created by Clarissa Walsh who lives and works in London and Dubai.

Apart from being an absolute sweetheart, Clarissa is insanely talented and I absolutely love the contemporary and at the same timeless looks seen in this look book. Don't even get me started on the photography and styling - big fat thumbs up from Candy&Cookie, Dubai sure has talent.

P.S The white studded edge skirt in the 2nd picture is soon to move in in my closet. If you want to order any of Clarissa's fabulous designs, you can do it through her website.

Flooka

by Teresa 26. May 2010 00:57

This weeks culinary highlight:

Seafood and sheesha at Flooka! Can't believe I haven't been there until now... Although it's a Dubai thing, with the abundance of new places catching your attention you easily overlook the classics.

P.S Candy&Cookie is still a fashion / lifestyle blog but since many of my readers ask for Dubai tips I will continue posting info on my favourite sights / restaurants / clubs etc. You like?

Mirdiff City Center

by Teresa 8. May 2010 13:02

The New Mall In Town - Mirdiff City Center.

Apart from the usual spread a few new shops caught my eye.

Bianco is a Danish shoe store, similar to what Forever21 is in clothing I'd say. Cheap and trendy, maybe not the best quality but if you are looking for that little somethin' somethin' they are great at snapping up the latest trends.

Evans from the UK is the only brand I know of that makes plus - size clothes suitable for younger buyers.

Lindex is a high street chain from Sweden, not so trendy perhaps but ok for basics.

Miss Selfridge, finally! Something in between H&M and Topshop, aka good stuff.

Last but not least: Topshop -far from a new brand in the UAE but the one at Mirdiff CC is the biggest one in Dubai so far.

Did I miss anything? Let me know.. I am more than happy to go back shopping. Solely in the name of research natch... //T.
